Saddle fitting service provided by Deana Tarr (SMS Trainee Saddle fitter) IASF Trained Advanced Level 4 Saddle Fitter and BHS Level 3 coach.

Booking information and Charges

Full payment must be made at time of booking, to confirm appointment.

Appointments at Witherslack Hall Equestrian Centre

£60 per horse.

Additional saddle checks for same horse £30 per saddle.

Flock adjustment £10

Gullet Bar change is included in the fitting charge (Gullet bars are chargeable)

Appointments at your yard

£70 per horse (non-refundable)

Extra £1 per mile travel from LA11 6SD. (This may be shared with other clients at the same yard)

Flock adjustment £10

Gullet Bar change is included in the fitting charge (Gullet bars are chargeable)

If your saddle needs the flock topping up, this can be done on site at a charge of £10. Gullet changes are included within your fitting charge, Gullet bars are chargeable.

A saddle that needs a full re-flock will be done off-site and returned within 10 working days, costing £150 (includes re-fit) Travel charges apply.

What to expect during your saddle assessment

Please allow 90min to 2hrs for your saddle fit and 30min either side.

Please ensure your horse is clean and dry, wearing his/her usual bridle, the usual rider is present, and you have all necessary equipment to hand.

Horses will need to be seen ridden at walk, trot and Canter if possible. If a jump saddle is being fitted, we would need to see the horse jump.

All fittings include:-

History of horse and rider, Assessment of horse, Template of horse, Saddle check (if existing saddle) and Static saddle fit, including Dynamic (ridden) fit.

Directions

From the A590 take the Witherslack turning (Please do not follow Sat Nav, which will bring you up via Millside junction, a narrow lane and then a bridleway) Turn over the cattle grid, keep on the road through the village for 2 miles, take the 2nd turning into the large car park at the rear of the farm.

Upon arrival at Witherslack Hall Equestrian Centre

Parking is to the rear of the buildings. Please leave your horse on the wagon or trailer whilst you check in at reception (under the archway turn left) Please note that dogs must always be kept on a lead, and are not allowed on the main yard.

Terms and Conditions

  • The fitting fee is required at the time of booking the appointment. This is non refundable if the customer cancels with less than 48 hours notice.
  • All saddle fitting charges, adjustments, flocking and travel expenses must be made in full on the day of the fitting.
  • A 45% deposit is required on all orders. Full payment is required before the item is delivered or at the time of fitting. Deposits are non refundable unless the order is cancelled within 2 days.
  • In accordance with the consumer rights act 2015 customers have a 14 day cooling off period with the exception of bespoke/made to measure items.
  • If an item is returned within the 14 days a refund will be given, less the deposit and call out fee/postage and a 10% charge for any wear and tear may be deducted.
  • Any alterations required after 28 days of the purchase of a saddle will be charged at the standard rate.
  • Saddle fitting charges cover consultation for one horse. Additional horses at the same location will be charged as agreed. Travel charged may be split between customers on the same yard.
  • Repairs will be quoted for before work commences, and payment is required in full on the day the item is returned.
  • Faulty items should be returned within 14 days for inspection. Please allow up to 28 days for replacement of the goods.
  • Your saddle will need to be checked on a 3-6 monthly basis to ensure correct fit and balance. It is your responsibility to arrange this.
  • Horses change shape as they put on or lose weight and gain or lose fitness. If you are aware that your horse has altered in shape, please book in to have your saddle re-assessed; it may need re-balancing or refitting with more or less flock or the temporary use of shims.
  • Your saddle has been sold fit for purpose, it is satisfactory quality, is as described, meets your expectations and has been installed (fitted) correctly at the time of fitting.
  • We reserve the right to refuse to meet orders where the product/service may have been listed at an incorrect price or an offer has expired.
  • The Saddle Barn reserve title to goods until paid for in full.
